About Us: An Independent Guide to Notre-Dame de Paris
notre-dame-de-paris.net is an independent visitor guide to Notre-Dame de Paris, written for travelers from the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia and the rest of the world, and published in 13 languages.
Who we are
The guide is written by Sophie Marchand, a Paris-based travel writer who has lived a short walk from Île de la Cité for more than ten years. She followed the restoration of the cathedral from the square, climbs the towers every season and tests the reservation system, the walk-in lines and the guided tours herself.
How we check our information
- Opening hours, Mass times and reservation rules are checked against the cathedral’s official website, notredamedeparis.fr.
- Tower prices and conditions are checked against the Centre des monuments nationaux.
- Historical facts are cross-checked with academic and official sources.
- Every guide shows the date of its last update. We review practical pages every month.
We are not the official website
We are not affiliated with the Archdiocese of Paris, the cathedral, the public body in charge of the restoration or the Centre des monuments nationaux. We never sell entry tickets to the cathedral, because entry is free.
How the site is funded
Some links lead to guided tours and activities on GetYourGuide, and some hotel links lead to booking platforms. If you book through them, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Our recommendations stay editorial: we always tell you first what is free.
